Marsh Gibbon Kids Kric8 will be running again this year from May to September.
Please note that the new sessions will be on Friday evenings starting at 6.30 pm until 8pm.
All the kids who gained their Bronze award last year can hope to improve their skills and gain a Silver and/or Gold certificate. The tests will be similar batting, catching, bowling and fielding but a little harder.Â
Sorry but we can only have children aged 7,8 and 9 years old as we may enter into a competition for under 10′s.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch as the club house should be open.
If any adults are interested in starting sessions for younger kids and have some spare time, we have equipment available to use. Please see Grant Cross for more information about CRB checks.

The Kids Kric8 has come to an end for this season.
We had a great presentation day and BBQ which was enjoyed by quite a few kids and parents. In total 16 young cricketers passed their Bronze award for bowling, fielding, catching and batting.
I would like to thank Steve Turner, Oliver Jeacock, Lewis Jeacock, Joe Leonard and Nathan Callow for helping run the sessions on Sunday mornings, it was greatly appreciated by all.
Next season we might try a Friday evening to see if we get better attendance.Â

There will be no Kids Kric8 on Sunday 3rd August. We will resume on the 10th August and 17th August.
Due to Marsh Gibbon men’s cricket team entering into a twenty 20 tournament on the 24th August, we have had to move our presentation day to Bank Holiday Monday 25th August.
We will start at 10 am with Kids Kric8 and hope to get parents involved in a big game. Hopefully a BBQ at lunch time and presentation of certificates and badges to those who have completed their Bronze challenge.
In the afternoon Marsh Gibbon cricket club intend to have a 10/10 tournament so people are welcome to stop and enjoy the fun.
The bar will be open all day for the adults!

This year the kids Kric8 has had an excellent attendance. There have been 22 kids attend on sunday mornings between 10 and 11 am, along with some superb helpers to assist with improving the kids skills. Thanks to all who have helped, Stevie, Oliver, Lewis, Joe and Nathan.
8 children have already passed their Bronze award this season, showing competency in catching, fielding, bowling and batting. This has all been on their first attempt. We have been averaging about 12 children per session and the most on one day was 16.
On the 24th August we are planning an event for the kids kric8. We hope to make the session a bit longer that day and at about mid day have a BBQ for children, parents, grandparents and friends. The bar will be open for the adults! Certificates will be awarded to those who have taken part. Any money made from this event will go straight back into equipment for the kids next year. After the BBQ there is a game involving Marsh Gibbon cricket club so the kids can watch a real game taking place so they know what is to come in a few years time!
Watch this space for more details and I will put flyers out in a few weeks time.

Last year we started kids Kric8 on a Saturday morning at the sports ground. This was well attended to start with but numbers sadly dropped off towards the end of the season. This year we hope to run kids kric8 on Sunday mornings from 10 am to 11 am. Steve Turner has completed his cricket coaching course and hopes to put his skills into practice and make it a fun time for any kids who want to come and play.
Due to safety regulations and rules everyone involved in kids kric8 must be CRB checked, if you feel you could help out please speak to Grant Cross about a CRB form.
Unfortunately we have to keep the ages of children to under 8′s at this time. We hope to get all the children achieving either Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, which can be gained by throwing, catching and batting.
First session starts May 4th 08 and will contine until September 28th 08.
